Donkey Kong shelves for holding all that old-school gaming gear
You really have to want this, and you really have to sell it, but I have to say, it really doesn’t look that bad! After all, Donkey Kong is naturally shelfish . Kind of crazy, sure, but it’s iconic, functional, and original. What more could you ask for in a total nerd’s household

Comparing a Red One, 5D mk II and Panasonic GH1: highly illogical
We posted this earlier this morning , but I want to weigh in since this is up my alley. I’m not entirely sure why people continue to compare the Red to consumer cameras. I mean, the price difference alone puts them in different categories, not to mention the format, resolution, and gear suite.

Zune gets FCC treatment, FCC needs a new camera guy
Don’t these FCC inspectors do this for a living? I don’t know how you can spend all day photographing gadgets, circuits, and so on, and end up with such a shabby collection of out-of-focus, weirdly exposed shots of random components. Maybe they were in a hurry

Capcom announces the Platinum Hits Triple Pack for Xbox 360
I love it when publishers bundle a couple or more classic titles from the lineup for a discounted price, don’t you? Capcom has just announced the Platinum Hits Triple Pack for a late summer launch that includes Dead Rising, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition – Colonies Edition and Devil May Cry 4. I haven’t spent too much time with Dead Rising but I’ve played the others and all three together are definitely worth it for $40

Leaked ZuneHD screens show newish UI
There are a bunch of new shots of the upcoming ZuneHD out there all of a sudden, in advance of an official announcement expected later on. They show not only a Black ZuneHD (I kind of like the silver one but hey), but some interface tweaks that make it a very good-looking device indeed

Rumor: 16GB Zune HD to cost 10-20% less than comparable iPod
An engineer at Microsoft has ballparked the cost of the 16GB ZuneHD at somewhere between $250 and $280 (for reference, a 16GB iPod Touch is $300). That’s a little bit higher than I’d have guessed, but considering OLED screens are still expensive, to say nothing of flash memory, it’s a solid estimate

I like my iPhones the way I like my marshmallows: golden brown
While a nice, toasted brown color signalizes a perfectly done marshmallow to yours truly, it’s a bit alarming when it’s streaked across the back of an iPhone 3GS.

CrunchDeals: 4GB Zune + extras for $88
Buy.com is selling the 4GB Microsoft Zune for $87.77 with free shipping. According to the product page, this is a “Blowout Price!” which may fan the flames of the ZuneHD-coming-in-September rumor from earlier today as it appears retailers might begin trying to clear out old inventory. It could be nothing, though, as clearing out inventory in June for a product that’s supposedly not shipping for another three months might be an odd move.
