PostHeaderIcon Hello, Moshi: a voice controlled alarm clock

I’ve been wondering how long it’ll be before we start talking to all our appliances and gadgets, just like the gang on Star Trek talks to their computers. Typing, pressing buttons, waving wands around in the air : it’s all so inefficient! We should be able to simply speak to our gadgets to have them do our bidding.

Game over, friends. NBC just released a statement saying it had reached a deal with Conan O’Brien that sees him bumped off The Tonight Show and bumped into a large sack of money worth $45 million. Of that $45 million, Conan will keep $33 million, the rest of which will go to his 200+ person staff as severance

PostHeaderIcon Get ready for the LCROSS lunar impact this Friday

Be sure to set your alarm clock for around 6am this Friday, for at 6:15am NASA will, in the immortal words of Matt Drudge , “bomb the moon.” No, we’re not talking about some dumb Hollywood (redundancy alert!) scenario, but the most exciting part of the Lunar CRater Observation and Sensing Satellite ( LCROSS ) program: the lunar impact.

PostHeaderIcon Cupcake to be last major update to the Dream/G1?

Sound the alarm! The limited amount of internal flash on the G1 will be its undoing, says one fear monger. With only 256MB of ROM, the G1 began hemorrhaging after the Cupcake update and it’s a pretty safe bet that Donut and Éclair will both be bloated bastards (from a G1 owner’s perspective) and so goes the rumor. One of the Android devs from Google added flames to the fire with the following statement:

PostHeaderIcon Have your iPhone icons gone all crazy?

It was a day like any other, my routine always the same: Roll out of bed an hour later than I should, then walk over to my iPhone and haphazardly bat at it to try and stop the alarm from screeching for the fifth time that morning. Walk to the bathroom, then pop open the Mail app while I brush my - Wait, what the heck?

PostHeaderIcon Review: Morpheus Culinary Watch

I’ll admit I was a little skeptical when the Morpheus Culinary watch first slipped out of its little leather pouch and onto my table. It looked as garish as an overweight, open shirted tourist wearing cargo shorts and a Hawaiian shirt. But then, to continue the metaphor, the watch seemed to get give me a plate of hot wings and a beer and said dig in, slowly getting me drunk as it told me stories about fishing expeditions involving copious amounts of alcohol and scantily clad island women

PostHeaderIcon DDR-style alarm clock forces you to finger-dance first thing in the morning

If you enjoy being frustrated and agitated first thing in the morning, then you’ll appreciate this DDR-style alarm clock that forces you to finger-dance various combinations on the built-in four-way pad in order to get the alarm to stop making noise. Product description: “If you love electronic dance mat games – the ones where you have to follow the onscreen pattern by dancing on different coloured lights - this alarm clock is a great way to get you out of bed as it incorporates a mini finger dance pad. When the alarm sounds, it can’t be turned off unless you do a little dance with your fingers to follow the sequence shown by the lights, just like on a full sized dance game.” Gee, sounds really great.

Believe it or not, many bloggers suffer from some sort of repetitive stress injury or even carpal tunnel syndrome. We’re human — mortal even.
