EA readying ‘realistic-looking’ sports accessories for Nintendo platforms
Electronic Arts apparently thinks that there’s still some gold in them thar Wii accessory hills, as the company has announced a line of “realistic-looking EA SPORTS golf clubs, tennis rackets and baseball bats for the Wii and Nintendo DSi as well as fitness gear for use with EA SPORTS Active.” EA has partnered with accessory maker Sakar to develop everything. The accessories are slated for a spring release and include the following: For the Wii The EA SPORTS accessory lineup includes a broad assortment of Wii compatible golf clubs, tennis rackets and baseball bats for use with game titles such as EA SPORTS™ Grand Slam® Tennis and EA SPORTS Tiger Woods PGA TOUR® 10 & Tiger Woods PGA TOUR® 11. Products come in various packages, such as father/son, junior set and pro set golf clubs that extend up to 24″ or 36″ for realistic gameplay

Here’s the right thing for all audio freaks out there who happen to be ready to shell out a lot of cash for a very unique product: Japan-based tech company BifrösTec (what a name) is selling egg-shaped speakers [JP] that are priced at $3,580 for a pair. The so-called D’Egg TGA-2R1 is sized at 140×140×235mm and weighs 2.6kg (including the stand that’s included in the price). The 30W speakers feature 70Hz〜20kHz frequency response, 4Ω impedance and 80 dB/W/M sensitivity

Someone really ought to explain to the British Journal of Photography how to keep a secret. They leaked the Nikon D3s early, and now they’ve dropped the new Olympus E-P2 as well, which was expected to be announced later tonight

New iMacs have finicky DisplayPorts
Just a PSA, really: The newest iMacs are somewhat limited in their capability to be used as external monitors for your laptop. I’d consider the functionality to be a bonus to begin with, but if you were going to be relying on it, better make other plans. It seems that the DisplayPort on 27″ iMacs (there isn’t a video in on the 21.5″ ones) is a bit picky on what it takes an input from.

The NBA starts tomorrow, and so does NBA Live 10’s Dynamic Season Mode
A little birdie, also known as an e-mail, tells me that EA Sports will flip the switch on Dynamic Season Mode in NBA Live 10 tomorrow. Well, for the Xbox 360 version; PS3 owners will have to wait till Thursday. This, of course, coincides with the start of the new NBA season, to be won, according to that same NBA Live 10 , by the Cavs
